Dear Reader: Thank you for visiting this site and learning more about the exiting world of Dichroic Coated Beads. My name is Jamie Kawahara and I am the sole proprietor of Dichroic Beads by Kawahara, owning and running the business from my home in Pleasanton, California. I am a recent graduate from the University of California at Berkeley, where I majored in Integrative Biology. Shortly after graduating, I became fascinated with inventing products that dealt with light and energy as a playful medium. It was during research for a patent, that I was introduced to the world of Glass Art at the Fenton Glass Studio in Oakland, California, where I worked as an assistant for one year, helping in pâté de verre casting. During this time Patricia O'Doherty and Dan Fenton introduced me to Dichroic glass and its use in lampworked beads, from which came the original idea to coat pre-manufactured beads with Dichroic Coatings. Since then, I have begun production for Dichroic Coated Aikos using the top quality coatings from Coatings by Sandberg, based in Orange, CA. I also hold a patent for a decorative light image generator, and greatly enjoy the continued development of new products and innovations in the interdependent fields of light and energy, glass and Art. I would like to thank all my customers for supporting Dichrobeads by Kawahara. Sincerely, Jamie Kawahara (Sole Proprietor of Dichroic Beads by Kawahara) |
